The Qualifi Level 7 International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSM) has been updated from 60 credits (4 units) to 120 credits (8 units), providing learners with a broader and more comprehensive qualification in occupational health and safety management.
If you completed the previous 60-credit (4-unit) qualification, you don’t need to start the course again. Instead, you can upgrade your existing qualification by completing the newly introduced units and receiving the updated 120-credit certificate.
This guide explains everything you need to know about the upgrade process, eligibility, timeline, required documents, and the benefits of upgrading.

Who Can Upgrade?
The upgrade is available for learners who:
- Successfully completed the Qualifi Level 7 International Diploma in OHSM (60 Credits / 4 Units).
- Registered for the 4-unit qualification on or before 30 April 2026.
- Wish to obtain the updated 120-credit qualification.
Learners who registered from May 2026 onwards are already enrolled in the 8-unit (120-credit) qualification and do not require an upgrade.
Documents Required for the Upgrade
To begin the upgrade process, learners should submit the following documents:
- Registration Letter
- Soft copy of the existing Qualifi Level 7 OHSM certificate
- Payment receipt of the upgrade fee
Once these documents are verified, the learner will be registered for the upgrade.
Upgrade Fee
- This fee is separate from the original course registration fee.
- It is applicable only to learners upgrading from the 4-unit (60-credit) qualification to the 8-unit (120-credit) qualification.
- Please contact your course advisor to confirm the applicable upgrade fee and payment details.
Additional Units to Be Completed
Learners upgrading from the 60-credit qualification are not required to repeat the units they have already completed.
Instead, they only need to complete the assessments for the four newly introduced units:
- Safety Programs and Concepts
- Ergonomics
- Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health
- Fire Safety
After successfully completing these additional assessments, learners become eligible for the updated qualification.
Upgrade Timeline
The upgrade follows a structured process.
Registration
After submitting the required documents and upgrade fee, the learner’s upgrade registration is completed.
Assessment Eligibility
Learners become eligible to request the upgraded certificate 8 weeks after the date of registration.
Certificate Issuance
Following the successful completion of the newly added assessments and verification of all requirements, the upgraded certificate is normally issued within 4 to 6 weeks from the date of the request.
Will I Receive a New Certificate?
Yes.
Upon successful completion of the upgrade:
- A new Qualifi Level 7 International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management (120 Credits) certificate will be issued.
- An updated Credit Certificate showing 120 credits will also be provided.
- The previous 60-credit certificate will be cancelled and replaced by the upgraded certificate.
TSP Membership Eligibility
One of the major benefits of upgrading is the renewed opportunity for TSP (Transitional Safety Practitioner) eligibility.
Learners who successfully complete the 120-credit upgraded qualification will receive a new one-year TSP Membership eligibility period, starting from the date the upgraded qualification is awarded, subject to meeting all applicable BCSP requirements.
This means that even if a learner’s previous one-year eligibility period under the 60-credit qualification has expired, they may become eligible to apply again after successfully completing the upgrade.
Benefits of Upgrading to 120 Credits
Upgrading your qualification offers several advantages, including:
- Earn the latest 120-credit Qualifi Level 7 OHSM qualification
- Complete only the newly introduced units—no need to repeat previously completed modules
- Receive a new Qualifi certificate and updated credit certificate
- Renew your one-year TSP Membership eligibility period (subject to BCSP requirements)
- Enhance your knowledge in fire safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and safety programme management
- Strengthen your professional profile for senior health and safety roles
